Umm Safiyyah completed her Bachelor’s with Honors, majoring in Accounting and Finance from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, she simultaneously began her pursuit of classical Islamic learning at Zaynab Academy, an Islamic Institute for women, where she was introduced to and was taught by Scholars who were the direct students of Mufti Taqi Usmani and a graduate Scholar of Umm Qura’ Islamic University, Saudi Arabia.
She studied Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under these traditional scholars, obtaining ijaza, completing the Dars-e-Nizami course, and receiving the ‘Alimiyyah degree issued through Wifaq-ul-Madaris al Arabiya Pakistan. She later completed the Takhassus fil Fiqh wal Ifta, obtaining the traditional title of ‘Muftia’, which granted her the ijaza to issue fatawa.
Umm Safiyyah has taught Aqeedah, Quran, Tafsir, Fiqh, and Arabic grammar to women in Lahore, United States, and has conducted online classes globally. She is a member of Dar-ul-Ifta, Fiqh Institute, Pakistan, which provides Islamic legal rulings to questioners from Pakistan, the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
